99 cents ...YEAH!

Handy Crafter Cotton is on sale this week @ Michaels , so of course I had to go buy some. so much for me knitting only from my stash! :) Its not that I don't already have 3 bags full of handy crafter cotton already :) LOL!

I found an old pattern of my Mum's

for a Tea Cozy and it matches the Hand Towels and Dishcloth sets I have been making , so now I am making Tea Cozy's to match so it will make a nice 3 piece kitchen set to sell at the craft fair, I think they might sell for Mothers Day Gift Sets. Once I finish the Tea Cozy I started last night, I will take a photo of the 3 items together and include it with this post so you can all see :)

I can't find the coat hangers I need?? :(

I only managed to find 6 of the old fashioned wood coat hangers that I have a pattern for.. :( So until I can find some more I can't make anymore coat hanger covers for the craft fair April 28th :( And I know they would really sell well, oh well I will just keep looking for them so I can make them for future craft fairs.
I will take a photo of the 6 I have made and include it in this post later in the week.

Have you noticed....?

That when you are out and about, you look at what people are wearing etc: and you notice if someone is wearing a lovely homemade scarf instead of a bought one, or you pick on that they have a lovely felted bag that was more than likeley made by them or for them... People must think I am rude as I always take notice of the scarves people are wearing and I sort of jabbber/chatter to myself..." I bet that is handmade " LOL! or "That was made with Love" LOL! :)

What are on your Needles?

I was just wondering what my friends are busy knitting/Crocheting?
Or what other crafts you are all busy working on ?

I am still working on the yellow baby blanket. .... Plus I am flat out knitting dishcloths also for the Spring Fair..April 28th,,
I have to say I am so proud of myself, I have been trying dishcloth patterns that a year ago I could never have done and now I am making 1 sometimes 2 a night and they are so pretty, I will try to add some more photos later this week.

Knitting books on order

Charmed Knits, (I can not wait to get this harry Potter Themed pattern book, I so want to get busy knitting Harry Potter items for myself and my son.
Also on order I have Knit Along With Debbie Macomber ( The Cedar Cove Collection)

Plus I need to order ...Stephanie Pearl-McPhee......................."Casts Off"

O still have her last book,...Knitting Rules! The Yarn Harlot's Bag of Knitting Tricks to read but I paln on taking both on the palne to Australia with me to read on the flight, as it looks like I won't be taking my needles on the plane with me so I need lots of knitting themed books to read on the plane.

Some Nights......

When I can't sleep, I just sit and knit a dishcloth or read a Knitting Mystery Book.. I hate when I can't sleep...

Not sure if I should .....

try taking circular knitting needles on the plane with me to Australia? A few magazines articles I have read lately, say some airlines allow them as long as they are Plastic or Bamboo and they are circular needles? But the magazines also say it is up to the customs officer/bag checker person if they want to allow you to take them on the plane.. so I would hate to be allowed in Vancouver to take them then in Honolulu or Nadi not be allowed and have to leave my stuff with them... That would really SUCK!

I am not Happy With The Creative Knitting Magazine

No that's not good enough, all the magazines in that store have the flier attached on the same page so I will have the same problem with all of them, all I want is a copy of the pattern that I can not read, and I don't see why I should search around other stores in hope of finding an issue without the flier attached to that page as that is one of the patterns I want to make... So Again I am asking for a copy of the pattern I can not read.. maybe you could include the pattern on your website.

Thank you.

I liked the baby bonnet pattern I found in a new quick and thinck knitting book I got before Christmas I made the smaller bonnet then I used some left over yarn in the pink and green and used a different size needle to make a slightly larger bonnet.

I have been so slack here

I have been very busy, as I started a new job, and I am loving it :)
Let's see what I have been knitting... well last night I finished the yellow baby blanket for my friend Sharon, who had a baby girl Feb 1st :) So now I am making a pink baby blanket for an order I got a few weeks ago. :)
I am saving all my extra money as I am going to Australia July/August 2007 so I have to watch what I spend, no more buying yarn just for the sake of it, I am trying to knit only from my stash, but the not buying knitting pattens and books and magazines I am struggling with... LOL!
I did get a new digital camera for christmas, so this week I will take those photo's I have been promising and share them here. :)

Knifty Knitter...

For Christmas I got the new Knifty Knitter set (The Long Loom Series) I have started to make a scarf for my hubby on the yellow loom but man is it ever slow going I find the round looms easier to manage and faster to work on, but I will keep trying. :)

Knitting Baby Items!

My friend's baby is due Feb 1st, so I have been busy making some cute little items for her new baby :) so far I have made a blue hat and matching mittens and now I have a yellow hat finished and I'm working on a yellow pram/buggy blanket and matching mittens, she said she wanted a smaller blanket as when she had her first child she said it always upset her when the lovely crochet blanket her aunt had made kept getting caught up on the pram/buggy wheels, so I am making a smaller one that will not drag down and get caught up in the wheels.

Knitting Barbie Doll Clothes!

Lately I have been using scraps and small amounts of left over yarn to make Barbie Doll Clothes for children in my complex, I am very popular with all the little girls, LOL! They keep knocking on my door asking if I have any new Barbie Doll Clothes for them! :)
