I LOVE to read! Favourite authors is hard because there are so many, but right up there are Diana Gabaldon, Paullina Simons, Sharon Penman, Sara Donati, Liz Carlyle, Lisa Kleypas, and the list goes on!

Yes, I like to read myself as you well know though I have been rather lax on that of late. I'm mostly into non-fiction and especially enjoy reading about the Old West as well as movie star biographies and the Chicken Soup for the Soul books. When I do read fiction, I like Mark Twain, Larry McMurtry and Fanny Flagg among others. Speaking of biographies, I just ordered an older book (published in 1976) about Jack Benny.

I love The Chicken Soup for the Soul books .. I have 2 ready to take with me to read while on the flight down to Australia. :)

Two other friends have suggested I try a Diana Gabaldon book, so I might just have to do that.

I love to read just about anything except Stephen King Novels. In my storage room, upstairs actually the small bedroom as I have no attic or basement, I have two bookcases full of books I have read over the years and buy my laztboy there is another bookcase which is also full. It holds the current novels I am reading and the ones I have read through the year.
I am 70 years old and have been reading as long as I can remember and my kids are the same way.

Hi Betty, My Mum is 70 years old also, and she still reads all the time, I recently suggested the Laura Childs Books to here so she is now busy reading them like me :) I have always read, I remember as a teen my stepfather getting home form work @ around 3AM and telling me to turn the light off and stop reading LOL!

I love to read, my favorite author is John Jakes, he is an historical author. He wrote the North & South t.v. mini-series trilogy that starred Patrick Swayze among many others. Just got the dvd set last week. he also wrote one that my hubby liked, On Secret Service. hubby usually reads serial murder type books. I really enjoy reading historical novels. I have also been reading the chronicles of narnia to my kids but we haven't gotten far. I have the entire collection in one book

This week I got a used book about Jack Benny. It's a hardbound book published in 1976...it's in pretty good shape for a 30-year old book...
